To transcend…

I have spent several days circling this delicate word – “TRANSCEND”.

It sounds quite beautiful and is felt in the deepest place, for it has the ability to be like a flower in the middle of a storm, subtle and powerful, all at once.

But, what lies behind this subtle power? When we transcend, are we really passing through something? Or are we jumping over, leaping, trampling a something.

They might seem like two absolutely similar concepts to you, but I don't think so. It is not the same to pierce you with a knife as to merely lay it over your belly.

Passing through seems to me something that requires a lot of strength, depending, of course, on what we are trying to pass through…But there is a great use of energy, undoubtedly, for matter is compact in all its forms. Something will have to break.

Overlaying, on the other hand, doesn't necessarily break, it can, I'm not saying it can't, but that isn't its priority. Its goal isn't to suffocate either, but it often does. To say it does so unwillingly would be a lie, not an exaggerated one, in some contexts. But, above all, what overlays seeks to rise above something that will remain below. Misuses belong to their usurper, and well, the rest is history. Overlaying doesn't have to be something with a malicious connotation; we can see it as the layers of a cake, so it would just be a natural order of things. Undergrowth beneath forest. The rhythm of the guitar layered over the bass in a song.

In this last instance, a beautiful breath is born in me, as I feel the overlaying rather as a continuous beat between the instruments of a band, where sometimes one sound rises above another, but in the end, it is a dance together. There is no superiority, for that is only a perception of the ego. To rise above is simply an action, then, a play between things. Sometimes you shine, sometimes I shine. Sometimes there is sun above the clouds and sometimes rain over the sun.

And beyond all these things, I feel there are many more…

What is that so powerful thing I feel when I transcend?

To shed my skin and go in search of what I haven't lost, yet hoping to find something I know I will find. I have felt it. Yes, that thin layer slowly covering my whole body, my whole soul and my whole being. The moment has come, then, to let it penetrate me so my old skin stops showing through it, and rather, to make it mine, a single one, attached to the flesh of what it is my place to call: this body of mine.

We will open the cracks of the new dwelling, with subtlety and with the great mastery of the luminous trumpets that sing as they pass in a carnival. We will beg the sky to thunder like the first time and we will understand how the roar of the earth announces a new transcending. Every day a rising soul is celebrated through the storm, and so the creatures bow in delight, quenching their thirst, letting themselves be pierced by the drops that run through the veins of this world, so eternal and vast until the end.

Blessed are those who transcend and set out on their way to heaven.

Azul.
